Parker Bromley team were awarded this Decent Homes project not only on price but because we had proven to Higgins Construction PLC on other Partnering projects that we had in place the infrastructure, experience and competence to run what is a very difficult logistical project.

Parker Bromley's Mechanical & Electrical departments are undertaking detailed condition surveys of areas which are affected by our new works, in addition to those items requested by the London Borough of Brent.

Electrically we are replacing the consumer unit and smoke detectors and completely rewiring kitchen and bathroom areas. Followed by our Mechanical team completing works that consist of supply and install of new bathrooms, plumbing services to the kitchens and associated plumbing works including renewal of Cold Water Storage Tanks, re-piping lead services, renewal of drainage installations.

Already we have carried out works to approximately 500 properties in a 6 month period. Our next batch of properties will be released shortly assuring our continued involvement on this project until early 2007.

Commercial boiler installation including strip out of all redundant equipment, new LPHW Heating System to School and Nursery. Maintaining of hot water to school.Full BMS control system we are employed as Principal Contractor responsible for all builderwork and decoration.

PROJECT: CLEM ATTLEE ESTATE
CLIENT: LOVELL PARTNERSHIP

This M&E project consists of twin tower apartment blocks located on the Clem Atlee Estate in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham with a total of 136 separate dwellings.

Parker Bromley’s Mechanical & Electrical departments are undertaking installation of; new heating, hot & cold water systems, removal of existing cast iron "Garchey" waste system and renewal of entire drainage systems in cast iron, renewal of cold water booster sets and break tanks, complete electrical re-wires, new lateral mains, IRS satellite system (Sky + Hotbird), new door entry system, communal and domestic fire alarm systems, plus CCTV.

This project will take place over a two year period and is unusual in nature due to working in a "six weeks on, six weeks off" programme for the internal dwelling works. The dwellings and residents are being decanted to facilitate these works.

PROJECT: CHARTER COMMUNITY HOMES CENTRAL HEATING REPLACEMENT

Building on our 25 year pedigree working with Local Authorities and Housing Associations in London and the Home Counties, Parker Bromley opened its new offices in Banbury Oxfordshire.

Its positioning allows Parker Bromley to service clients throughout the Midlands area and to better manage projects and clients on the North and West side of London, leaving Orpington to cover the South East down to the coastal regions.

With this infrastructure in place Parker Bromley were awarded a Partnering Contract with the newly formed Housing Association in Cherwell District Council.

The contract is over a two year period and consists of 380 properties per year. These properties are being installed with new full heating systems which will also include associated energy efficiency measures. These works consist of using condensing boilers in urban centres where gas is available. Throughout the Oxfordshire area in those isolated villages where gas mains are not available, we are installing the newest breed of energy efficient electric boilers.

These boilers are able to deliver the same standard and level of comfort and heating as those fitted with the more conventional gas boiler, but with the advantage of needing never to be serviced and very little to breakdown.

PROJECT: BROOK & PAGE ESTATE
CLIENT: LOVELL PARTNERSHIP LTD - LONDON BOROUGH OF GREENWICH

This is the first of the new Decent Homes Policy contracts that is driven by a Government agenda to ensure a basic level of housing quality is achieved.

The project is being delivered under a Partnering Charter and once completed will be Benchmarked as a Demonstration Project and used by government as a model for other local authorities to emulate as the Decent Homes Policy is adopted country wide.

As one of the WPC contractors we are installing new and replacement central heating systems across this well know estate. Each dwelling will be equipped with full central heating packages on a like for like bias, so both combination boilers and conventional hot water storage systems will be employed. In addition to this our remit has included surveying properties to check that ventilation is in line with current regulations.

PROJECT: CENTRAL HEATING PROGRAMME
CLIENT: PEABODY TRUST

The Peabody Trust awarded Parker Bromley its first contract in September 2002.

The work consists of the installation of full central heating in both void & occupied properties throughout the Peabody Estate covering all areas of London. From Mayfair to the Elephant & Castle
